College paintball is a class of paintball where a majority of the players are attending the same college or university. There are various formats at the college level including Class AA(5 man) and Class A(X Ball).

All college paintball tournaments are overseen by the National Collegiate Paintball Association which also organizes and hosts a National Championship every year.

The college paintball league is comprised of two divisions: Class A and Class AA. Here are the relative merits of each:

Class A: -Xball style format -high financial and personnel commitment -television exposure -premiere college division

Class AA: -5 man format -low financial and personnel commitment -easy for teams to participate in
